- Ryan gets up before dawn every day and runs on the beach. His daily workout includes weight training and tai chi. He rarely skips it.
- He is fluent in 5 languages although he may not tell you what they are.
- Ryan has tried not to let his strict and rigid upbringing dictate how he raises his son Riley. As he grows older, Ryan plans to instill the principles he learned as a SEAL just like he did with Rayne.
- Although it is widely believed that the lifestyle of a bodyguard is exciting, their routine can be fairly mundane. However, Ryan found his role protecting Beth Stanfield as anything but.

- If Landry had not died giving birth to Riley, Ryan might have eventually married her for the sake of his son. It would not have ended well.

- One of his deepest regrets involves the daughter of a diplomat he was extracting from a foreign country who was killed on Ryan's watch. It was either her or the man he was charged with protecting. Ryan chose his duty. Her eyes still haunt him.
- Ryan actually has quite a sense of humor although he won't show it much. He can also kill with a single, lethal blow.
- One day Ryan would like to purchase a boat and sail around the world, preferably with a beautiful woman and his son accompanying him. He no longer believes it will come to pass.

Qui, I think Ryan's eyes are the most vulnerable part of him. You can always tell how he feels when you look into them.

7 didn't surprise me actually. 10 seems just right, too. 8 is the kind of thing that will haunt you, and says a lot about the man he's become. 2 is interesting, that's the one that surprised me most, though it makes sense for his work.

ReplyDeleteRad, I actually envisioned Ryan as a kid waltzing in the living room with his mother. Looking deeper into characters and seeing what you don't write about is always fascinating and eye opening. A great way to know who they are.

ReplyDeleteI'm surprised and not surprised that he's a dancer. It seems to come out from no where and then makes perfect sense when you think about it more.

And #9, I think that humor and darkness go hand in hand. I would guess that you need to be able to laugh to carry on living and looking at yourself in the mirror every day.
