  1. lovely, sweet, gorgeous, and even a bit difficult to look at, there's so much emotion in these.

The shots of Cooper and Wyatt are incredible. The color, the lighting, the sense of movement and action.

Rafe is breathtaking. The joy he is taking in his son is wonderful!

And Slim -- it's so great to see his soft side! He doesn't usually show it!

    Perfect Gayl. Just perfect.

  2. I must say I was reminded a little of Slim's closeness to Wyatt at that toddler age. And yes, he usually doesn't let his softer side show but his son is very special to him.

Cooper and Wyatt...if ever there was a tumultuous relationship that turned into a deep bond that is it.

And Nic just adores his daddy. Rafe is a wonderful and caring father and the joy he feels in his son is so heartwarming.

  3. THANK YOU for adding the shots of Cooper and Eric! They perfect the sequence! So much affection between them, and it really shows!

    This is really wonderful!

  4. I cannot believe I didn't think of that in the first place...they are so close. I just adore that family. Wonderful relationship between those two.

  5. Is it awfully wicked of me that I was wanting a shot of Rafe a bit further down in that last shot? Hehehehehe.

These are fantastic - the angels are great and the lighting and atmosphere just oozes from them. You've done such a marvellous job and I got to say, loving the journal appearance too.

  6. LMAO not wicked at all! He'd be only too happy to oblige you.

I admit I do like the feel of this blog. I'm learning...slowly. I doubt I will change Dark December though. Most of my early shots are 400x300 and quite frankly not that great. Not sure if I will start a new one as I continue there or not.

And thank you. I am trying to improve. Getting there...

  7. I loved every shot. Just seeing some of those toddlers that are now growing up, it's like a real memory that makes you go "Awwww" I remember that! I think my favorite is Coop with toddler Wyatt, probably because we didn't get to see much of that. They were all wonderful though, brilliant!

  8. Thanks Emily for stopping by! The toddler shots of Wyatt...that was a very difficult time for Cooper and while there are shots, I don't think I will post them here. But I did want to include one and I loved that one where he was teaching Wyatt to talk.

I have been meaning to do something like this for a long time. Lots of ideas and never any time to carry them out.

  10. this is wayy too cute!

We finally catch a glimpse of the other babies in the scene! Nic and Will (esp will) has grown up fast! They're all so adorable!

I'm particularly drawn to the 3 generations of Stanfield men. There's a nice continuity and flow about it that's somewhat heart melting. It's great that Cooper and Wyatt have things all cleared up. It's awesome to see them both doing what they do best together- jamming!

Rafe is such a yummy dad, he still looks so young and single! It's really heart warming to see him all snuggly with his son. At least that's one person that's always gonna be true to him.

With the picture posts of Rayne and Cooper on Beth's side and this post on yours AND even though they're sims and all have the same reactions to their children... I do feel a lot of love! All these parent-children shots remind me of Sylvia Plath's "Nick and the Candlestick" where she ends off telling her baby that he's "the one solid the spaces lean on". I thought it was so apt! Especially given the dramatic lives the fathers have led. Their babies seem to be the only thing holding them together and the only truths in their crazy lives.

Btw, do you build you and Beth build your own houses? I really love the SOuth Beach houses!

    love love love this post!

  11. Sandy, thank you so much! I have so much fun taking pictures of the family relationships out of the story context. And I admit that I truly enjoy taking pictures of Rafe with Nic. He is a yummy dad. And it is nice to see that Cooper's relationship with Wyatt seems to be growing into the same kind he has with Eric. Slim, well what can I say, he is a one in a million great guy.

  12. I'm glad you liked the Fathers and Sons photo shoot Chloe. I enjoy seeing the multi-generational Stanfield family too. I don't spend as much time with Eric and Cassandra as I would like but there is a solid foundation there that both Cooper and eventually Wyatt will build from.

No matter what happens in their lives, family is most important to these men. And Rafe is a yummy young father but by no means single LOL! I think he will give his son a much different start than he had as a child; in fact I am positive of that.

As for the lots, I am the worst builder on the planet. I download just about everything and then whine until Beth decorates it for me! LOL! Wait until you see Wyatt's place at college! She designed the whole interior. She put a lot of time and effort into it for which I am forever grateful. It would have takne me...I don't even know how long...and it would not have looked half as good.

  13. I am not one to ooh and ah over pictures of children (aren't I cold-hearted? LOL!) But these shots brought a lump to my throat. Especially Cooper and his dad Eric, how heartwarming!
What a great idea this blog was, hope to see more great shots!
And how lovely to see Rafe after all he has been through, to embrace 'daddy-mode' so wonderfully!
    Take a bow, gayl!

  14. Those were some great pictures!

I think my favorite was the one with Cooper playing the guitar with his son. I've been wanting to see something like that. Wyatt looks great in the spotlight with his dad! Maybe someday they'll be able to do some professional performances together... a father and son act! :D

And the last one with Rafe and his baby was really sweet. They looked really adorable together!

  15. I did enjoy this photo shoot very much. There are of course the Mitchell men that I should have included but sadly forgot to...I will probably do some more family shoots down the road though.

As for Cooper and Wyatt performing together, hopefully that will become a reality down the road.
